We are very proud of Karen's hard work for such a worthwhile cause.

Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday (October 19 – 21, 2007) Karen participated in a 60 mile walk for the Breast Cancer 3 Day which benefits the Susan G. Komen for a Cure and the National Philanthropic trust. Karen started getting ready for the event in May. She walked 4 days a week in preparation for the event (over 600 miles).

In order to participate in the charity walk each participant had to make a pledge to raise $2,200. Karen raised money by selling hot dogs in front of Wal-Mart, making and selling jewelry and soliciting family and friends for donations, raising a total of $2,450.00. The 3 day walk raised over $5,000,000 most of which will be used locally.
